Delia Marston

Status (enslaved, free or both): both

Known dates: 1780s-1793

Delia Marston’s burial on October 28, 1793 is recorded in the vital records of Newburyport, Massachusetts, where she is referred to as “once servant to Benjamin Marston, Esq., of Marblehead.” Benjamin was a known Loyalist and has familial ties to the Lee family of Marblehead and Tracy family of Newburyport. Perhaps this explains Delia’s presence in Marblehead. Her daughter, Flora, was buried in Newburyport on April 30, 1788 (listed as daughter of Nero and Delia).
