Cesar, “servant to Dea’n Orne of Marblehead,” published his intention to marry Flora, “servant to Ens’n Saml’ll Leach,” in Beverly on January 1, 1764. Cesar is listed in Joshua Orne’s (February 8, 1797(8) – November 22, 1772) probate inventory as “Negro Man Call’d Cesar 30 - -" and listed among Joshua’s possession in the Shop Chamber of his house.
